To help launch ABS University, I have posted a series of threads here dealing with the most common bladesmithing alloys. In each of these threads I have contributed the working and heat treatment information from my website for these steels. Obviously, I would not be very happy if anybody else, on any other forum, cut and pasted this information, but as an administrator of this forum it is my contribution to the ABS to begin the process of building the ABS University section into a resource that I hope benefits our members and helps with the ABS goal of the advancement of the forged blade.

In this post, to be pinned at the top of the forum, I will link to all of the other threads. Then each of these individual steel threads can be their own growing, and ongoing, discussion on its respective alloy.

I don't know how I missed this, but wow what a great thing. I have often visited your site for this information and have printed out the ones for the three I use regularly. Your site posts have been invaluable to me as a maker. Thanks for putting this in a place of easy access. The ABS University is off to a great start! Kevin,

This is amazing thank you for the time and effort on this. I have been just doing random Google searches on the heat treat information but, you can never really be sure of the validity of it.

Thanks

Josh
