I started knife making around 2014.  I have been messing around with it for many years but never really actually made a workable knife.  I bought me a basic Pheer Grinder and started from there.  Really enjoy the process and it grounds me lots.  Knife making has helped me personally to heal my mind and soul from an accident I had many years ago.
