Congratulations to all the new Journeyman Smiths. Sounds like it was a good field of applicants. A good way to start the San Antonio judging.
Congrats again.

+1 (times 10!)
I've met Zach a couple of times at the ABS hammer-ins in Maine. Good for you! I've "met" Scott McGee via his wife, Lydia's postings on Blade Forums. Congrats to all of you!
I just got home a couple of hours ago from the show, and as one of the Judges, would like to add my congratulations to all of our new ABS Journeyman Smiths! I'll offer my thoughts/views on the show in another thread (likely tomorrow, after I get some sleep!)
Right now I've gotta mention something. There were some impressive knives laid out by this cast of JS candidates....very often I hear from various individuals "The ABS keeps raising the standards." Well, I'm here to say that the ABS hasn't "raised" anything when it comes to the standards for JS and/or MS presentation knives. The standard has been raised by those who submit knives for judging....the knives submitted just keep getting better and better. Having been a Judge at both the JS and MS levels since 2001, I've watched the progression, and can only say that the ABS and it's members are doing their job to further the forged blade, by sharing the knowledge and experience, which allows such an impressive array of knives to be presented for judging.
Again, Congratulations to all of our newest Journeyman Smiths!

Congratulations All!
I certainly hope that the new Journeyman Smiths find their way to this thread.
I have been collecting as many JS and MS photo sets of knives as I can over the last few years. I would like very much to add these new ones to the inventory.
