Polymer quenchants- UCON and others, are they viable and cost effective at the blade smith level or is the control of the process perimeters outside the range for typical small shop use?

Well I did some research and it appears that the control measures for this exceed what non industrial shops can or look to spend. I have a bucket of Houghton 3430 to try now
