Did this article a few yeas ago for Hammer's Blow. Credit goes to Mark Aspery for much of the writing. As always, my intent was to offer folks a way of forging with only hand tools.

Anyway, finally got it posted on my web site. Because of it's size, I'm giving a link rather then taking up bandwidth here.

Thank you Gerald! Good stuff right there. Sometimes we lose sight of other tools we can make besides knives. All part of forging. I need to make one or two for hollowing out japanese sword scabbards.

Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing, I like the way you laid it out. I have used old chisel made like that, and they will Cut!!

Not sure were I'm going with the bladesmithing, but I greatly enjoy forging tools for myself. I've also made the Japanese style garden knifes for the misses and billhooks and axes for myself.
