So I looked through the threads for a ribbon burner subject and couldn't find one. Maybe I missed it, but here we go anyway.

Who has a ribbon burner on their forge and how do you like it? Did you make it yourself or purchase it from someone who makes them? Does it use considerably less or more gas than a conventional venturi or forced air burner to achieve working/welding heat? Does anyone have one from these guys: http://www.pineridgeburner.com/

and how well does it work?

I've seen and researched the ribbon burners a little bit and am very curious about them. I believe they still require a blower, correct? Not having had a blown forge before, I'm curious if they're more efficient with gas use and quick to get to temp over the standard blown type.

John Emmerling uses ribbon burners and made a tutorial on building them. Here's a link to a thread here that talks about it and tells where to find the tutorial My link

I knew I saw it somewhere on the forum boards, I just couldn't remember where. Thanks for that.

I've only ever seen one in operation. They say they are really quiet for a blown forge and can generate some awesome heat.
