I just received some very sad news this morning. Journeyman Smith Carl Hallenbeck died last night of an aneuryism. Carl was a big part of the Piney Woods Hammer-In and our operation of the Moran School of Bladesmithing at Texarkana College in Washington, Arkansas. Carl was retired from Texarkana College and a great guy and a good friend. He lived in Redwater, Texas. No further details are available at this time.

Sad news indeed. Carl was a helper for the December 2009 Intro class. His signature is on my class test blade along with MS Mike Williams and

JS Mike Ruth.
