A friend has several knives with this makers mark and asked me if I knew who made it. I have gotten into knives fairly recently and can't seem to find anything identifying different makers marks. any help would be appreciated, who the maker is; if you recognize the mark, or a starting point of where I might start. I have already tried google for a list of makers marks with no luck.

Hi Larry, I believe I have seen that mark before. If I'm not mistaken it belongs to Bill Miller from Warsaw Mo. The name he goes by is WM knives. Hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes here, but if it is Bill's mark, he is a great guy.

Thanks Frank for jogging my brain. Big duh! moment. Yes I do believe that is Bill's mark. A W over an M inside an oval. Bill Miller is out of Warsaw Missouri and primarily makes damascus knives. He is a heck of a nice guy and has good deals on ivory also. He will be at the Arkansas Custom Knife Show in Little Rock, February 18th and 19th.

Hello Brion, and you are welcome. I thought I recognized Bill's mark. Bill usually sets up a table at the St. Louis knife show in January also. In addidtion to having ivory, Bill usually also has good deals on exotic leather, some woods and a few other odds and ends. I always look forward to seeing what he has to offer. He does make some beautiful damascus knives. Frank

Thanks Frank. The friend who has the knives said the maker was from Warsaw, MO, So you are probably correct.

I thought this mark looked familiar, but couldn't place it. I didn't even think about it perhaps being Miller's. I've got to send Bill an email this morning. I'll attach the photo of the mark and ask Bill if it is his. Bill isn't a Member of the Forum, so I'll post his response.

Miller has some really nice ivory for sale. The walrus ivory on the bowie that I posted in the ABS Expo Album is some of Bill's.
