You folks reckon it is starting to get winter time yet? Us southern side old people think so. This morning it is a nippy 10 degrees at 89 percent humidity.

That stiff breeze out of the north tells me that some of you are getting some really cold weather. Supposed to be freezing rain tomorrow; but as long as we are not down to burning the furniture to stay warm it is all good.

Yesterday was the first time my quench bucket required a hot iron to get through the ice.

Hang tight; it'll be back to 110 deg. before you know it.

I agree mike. Way too cold for an old southerner. This morning it was 9 degrees with a wind chill of 2. It anit supposed to be that cold in Alabama.

10F would be nice, that is where it normally would be here at this time of year, but this morning as I type this it has warmed up a bit to -10F. Yesterday all the schools were closed, many business' shut the doors and many departments in the state gov, were shut down, not just because of the intense drifting snow but also the danger of wind chill; I shouldn't have to say that here in MI we normally don't take snow and cold all that seriously. Yesterday Karen bought some water softener salt at the local farm supply, where the wind was really going, since I didn't have gloves it only took me two and a half minutes to load it into my truck, in that time I had enough aching numbness and burning in my fingertips that I was concerned about real damage, I have never had those symptoms that fast before.

I think I am going to weld some damascus today rather than run the grinder <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//wink.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />.

I suspect that our Canadian members, are laughing at our complaints about the cold. Yesterday morning, it was -11 here, with a wind chill of -30. Reached a high of +9. Today is forecasted to hit a balmy +35.

Too cold in the shop to work at 6° here in Northwest Mississippi. Going to Arkansas and hunt ducks for a few days! Stay warm. Like Mike said it'll be hot soon enough 🙂

-13 here in Southern Missouri early yesterday morning! I'm pretty sure we're getting some record breaking or nearly record breaking temperatures.

Ya, we've been having it tough here in Honolulu too. The temp has dropped into the 70s lately. We even had a smidgen of hail with some of the rain a couple of days ago for a few minutes.

Stay warm guys. Watch your fingers and toes!

Pretty much the same here , colder than we like but just when you get a good base for the ski-doo trails the forcast for the weekend is +1 and rain.

Here's a look at the most recent weather here in Branson:

Last night we got 1/4" of ice followed by another 7" of snow. <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//angry.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> We've now had officially 5 times our average snowfall for the winter.

Here we are 2 mths later and -30 this morning , whats with that. Maple sap won't even poke its head out yet. Cuba or Mexico sound pretty good about now but coming back to this could send you into a deep depression.

A nice warm 16 deg. here this morning. The stout westerly wind brings it down below 0.

The sleet and ice of yesterday just got a polish job.

Al gore is at his winter home in St. Thomas creating more climate theories!!!

I have always hated our 115 deg. summers; I now hate winter. I do like our three days of spring and four days of fall each year.
