I would consider myself a hobbyist bladesmith and blacksmith. I don't get to spend as much time at the forge as I would like, but I'm in the early stages of constructing a shop at my home and hope to make time in the shop a more regular part of my routine in the not so distant future. In the meantime, I enjoy taking classes whenever I have the opportunity. Some of my favorites places to do so are the John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina and Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil (SOFA) in Troy, Ohio. I prefer working with natural materials (e.g. antler, wood) and I like a knife that has elements to show it was hand forged. For my day job, I work as a neuropsychologist.
