This one was a lot of firsts for me.
first blade over 10” long

first time using cholla cactus for a handle

first time grinding stones as it is real turquoise embedded in the epoxy

But man it was an incredible experience and so glad I didn’t let this one pass by.  Customer was super happy with how it turned out.

Thanks,

actually didn’t do anything much different.  Slowed the grinder way down to 20hz and started with an 80 grit belt to keep from tearing one out. Turquoise is pretty soft, but the hardest part was drilling the holes as the bit wanted to wander when it hit one. Full cobalt bits went through though.  Again slowed speed way down and did it in stages to limit how far the bit stuck out from the chuck.
